GSM Visa

The General Skilled Migration (GSM) program is Australia’s points-based pathway for skilled professionals who wish to live and work in Australia permanently or temporarily. Designed to address skill shortages in the Australian labor market, the GSM visa allows qualified individuals with in-demand occupations to apply for residency without employer sponsorship.

There are several visa subclasses under the GSM program, including:

  • Subclass 189 – Skilled Independent Visa (Permanent, no sponsorship required)
  • Subclass 190 – Skilled Nominated Visa (Permanent, state/territory nomination required)
  • Subclass 491 – Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Temporary, regional nomination required)

This program is ideal for skilled workers who meet Australia’s qualification and experience criteria and want to contribute to its growing economy while enjoying a high standard of living.
